About Quokka Coffee
Quokka was originally set up by James and Paul in 2019 after becoming frustrated with the selection of bland everyday instant coffee, or overpriced ‘speciality’ instant coffee offered by many retailers.
As our instant coffee following grew, we were asked repeatedly about freshly roasted coffee, and in 2024 after an extensive search for a roaster capable of delivering a quality we were happy to put our name to, Quokka Whole Bean and Ground was launched!

Our vision
To provide higher quality, ethical coffee to consumers and businesses at a competitive price, whilst doing our bit for the planet!
We always do our best to reduce the usage of single use plastics at all points in the supply chain, including asking our suppliers to use paper based products wherever possible.
We also encourage from top to bottom for staff and directors to reduce their carbon footprint, including working from home, and cycling to the office whenever possible, and all our beans are certified Carbon Neutral by Carbon Neutral Britain!
We also pay a premium for eco-packaging and low carbon delivery options.
Introducing Quokka’s Founders
James oversees stock, distribution and finance, wholesale enquiries as well as managing our relationship with larger business customers. Outside work James enjoys spending time with his young family, playing golf, football and cycling, as well as a number of other active hobbies. James is a big animal lover, and the long term dream is to run an animal sanctuary in retirement!
Paul is responsible for the more creative aspects of the business including packaging design, marketing and advertising. Paul enjoys spending time with his family, surfing, outdoor swimming and hiking. Through his love for surfing he built his understanding of the damage being done to marine and land environments, and Paul is a big proponent for eradicating single use plastics from the supply chain wherever possible!
